Location: Eleanor Chase House - Spokane, WA

Eleanor Chase House Work Release (ECHWR) is a female facility co-operated by Pioneer Human Services and the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC), located in Spokane, WA. Most of the residents are transferred to ECHWR to complete up to the last six months of their felony sentence. There is also a smaller population of residents referred from the Community Corrections for violations of their supervision, who are sanctioned to serve 45 days. All residents of ECHWR are required to obtain and maintain employment during their stay. Our Resource Developer who, in conjunction with the Community Corrections Officers (CCO’s), assists the residents with finding much needed services in the community, including housing, employment, clothing, medical, transportation and more.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Cook’s primary responsibility is to cook and serve food for the residents and staff, in accordance with all Health and Safety regulations.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Washington State Food and Beverage Service Worker’s Permit
  • May be required to worked varied hours
  • Must have the ability to handle comments, criticism and requests politely - and refer these to staff. 
  • Two months of food service experience desired.
  • Hepatitis B Series Results or Waiver and Current TB Test results
  • Must clear pre-employment drug test and may be required to clear a criminal history background check
  • Must wear safety protective equipment as required (i.e. Gloves, safety glasses, and foot protection).
  • Must be able to sit or stand continuously for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and reach out and above shoulders
