Job Description
The HYATT house Redmond is seeking an outgoing hospitality professional to fill the critical role of Meetings & Events Manager. We are looking for an individual that is very organized, has excellent time management skills and can work well on a team as well as independently. The Meetings & Events Manager must be willing to work evenings & weekends as business conditions require.
Meeting and Event Manager Key responsibilities will be:
- Soliciting new accounts in the SMERF guest room Market specifically to meet and exceed revenue goals.
- Sales: cold calls, direct sales calls, sales blitzes & hotel tours.
- Maintaining good relationships with existing clients.
- Exploring new ways to increase revenue.
- Manage Meeting and Catering supplies inventory and processes.
- Sales support to DOS and Sales Manager and coordination on all groups, including group blocks, rooming list and billing.
- Sales coordination in assisting DOS in various reports and office management responsibilities.
- Meeting and Catering soliciting, selling, contracting, planning and coordination from beginning to end including managing banquet staffing.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize.
- Flexibility. Our Meetings & Events Manager must anticipate some scheduled weekend and evening hours, including participation in the Manager-On-Duty schedule.
Job Requirements
Meeting and Event Manager best candidates will bring:
- Minimum two years hotel sales experience required.
- Four year college degree preferred.
- Extended stay hotel experience a plus.
- Fluent in English – excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficient in computer skills including Power point.
- Ability to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows & training (limited basis).
- Must have a valid driver’s license – state appropriate.
