Senior SQL Database Engineer

Long Term project and Excellent Pay Rate

 

Must Have:
--Different versions of SQL Server (2000, 2005, 2008, 2008R2, and 2012) installation and management
--Various technologies within SQL Server: Data Mirroring/Replication, SSIS. Configuration of SSRS and SSAS
--SQL Server performance monitoring and troubleshooting
--SQL Server Scripting skill
--SQL Server security standard management

Project Location: Bellevue, WA

Role: Senior SQL Database Engineer

Project Duration: 12 months with strong potential of getting extended

Position Scope:

Responsibilities:

Sr. SQL Server Database Engineer to manage a large number of SQL Servers and support SQL server – related projects.
o Provide MS SQL Server database engineering and administration support for data center migration project, technology refresh project, and application infrastructure refresh project.

o Major responsibilities include leading DB and DB server design for various applications, leading DB and DB server deployment,
working with different teams to successfully deliver projects on time and on standard, provide troubleshooting and performance monitoring assistance, working with enterprise tools to manage various aspects of DB and DB server, working with production support team as engineering SME for various applications, and working with professionalism and maintaining good customer
relationship.
o Senior DB Engineer/architect who can design, develop, and implement SQL server solutions for complex projects, and have deep understanding of SQL server security requirements.
o Provide technical expertise in all aspects of database implementation life cycle from sizing, through capacity planning, design, and implementation.
o Physical implementation of databases, storage structures, high-availability solutions, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
o Provide inputs in defining database standards and best practices for advanced monitoring and troubleshooting, performance tuning and automation
o Provide guidance and direction to Level-2 Production database operations team.

Job Requirements

o Expert in design, analysis, development, implementation and administration of 2008R2 and 2012 databases.
o Expert in implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Always-on, Log shipping, data replication, and mirroring.
o Expert in DB performance monitoring, DB recovery, DB change management, and DB task automation.
o Experienced in working with different components of SQL Server including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.

o Minimum of 8 years experience working as MS SQL Server DBA supporting mission critical applications.
o Experienced working on large enterprise infrastructure with over 100+ SQL servers
o Experienced with VM virtualization and Vblock technologies is a big plus.
o Experience with SQL 2012 Always-on is a big plus
o Experienced with SQL technical security requirement is a big plus.

o Some experience with Oracle database platform is a big plus.
o Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
o Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required)
