Position Summary Provides Systems Support for Itron products and processes with detailed direction. Investigates issues and finds solutions to a variety of problems or projects. Works independently and in teams often leading meetings with customers and Itron personnel. Demonstrates concern for meeting customers’ needs and strives for customer satisfaction. Acts as an advocate for the client on the architecture design. Often resolving more complex application problems working directly with the customer and the engineering team. May be responsible for assisting with and creating training and course outlines and courses for project related implementations and training opportunities in addition to developing User Conference material. Participates in project-based deployments, sometimes working at customer sites, and typically measured by quality of work performed. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in testing of software sub-systems.
- Find and troubleshoot defects in program code.
- Support application use and deployment.
- Communicates directly with customers on a daily basis at all with working levels within customer organizations and within Itron. Listens effectively to understand and address the overall impact of issues as they affect the customer (processes, resources, time).
- Investigates and isolates product related problems. Works with customers and internal employees to troubleshoot and characterize reported issues.
- Documents and communicates issues and resolutions using a variety of formats. Logs issues, tracks progress and updates the customer, the department’s involved and internal/external management. Creates and updates knowledge base documents.
- Submits expense reports, timesheets, trip reports and customer issue updates in a timely manner.
- Present solutions to customers.
- Participate in product technical training classes.
- Implement solutions for customers.

Experience:
This position requires up to 1-2 years of previous related technical experience.

Technical experience required:
- SQL development/ experience
- System Administration skills/ experience working on servers

Education: Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience.

Travel: up to 10%

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel small and medium sized components. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift weight or exert force up to 50 pounds. The employee in this position works in an environment where they may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, there is a risk of electrical shock, and there is vibration. The employee may be required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals, may be subject to higher noise levels, or work near moving mechanical parts.
