Job Responsibilities
As a Java Software Developer, you will apply your technical expertise and Java development skills to design and develop efficient software solutions, based upon our clients business requirements.
Heres some of what youll be doing:
Analyzing customer requirements
Performing all programming functions to accomplish specific software solution requirements
Design or modifying systems to accomplish functions in compliance with our Software Development Life Cycle framework
Verifying the accuracy and validity of all software developed, including preparations of sample test data and the execution of program, job stream, and system testing
Preparing all required documentation indicating system functionality
Working closely with the Lead Developer, Architect, and DBA to implement component designs for Domain Objects, Data Access Services, Functional Components and Portlets
Facilitating a test-driven environment by creating both unit and integration tests

Job Requirements
As a Java Software Developer, you should have a strong background performing complex analysis, design, development, testing and implementation, as well as serving as a technical resource or developer for a large team. It is also important that you have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact well with business users and analysts.
Specific qualifications for the Java Software Developer position include:
High school diploma or GED; Bachelors degree preferred
4 or more years Java development experience
Strong communication skills are required as developers will frequently interact with business users and analysts in order to gain an understanding of business requirements.
Availability to travel extensively as required
Must be a US citizen
Experience and/or familiarity with the following, preferred:
o J2EE, Java Scripts, Struts, SOAP, and/or JSP
o SQL
o SOA Architect
o WebSphere
o Java development with RAD / RSA / Eclipse
o WAS and/or WPS
o Web Services development
o ORM and DI frameworks, specifically Spring / Hibernate
o Oracle Database
o Object-oriented Analysis and Design, use of standard modeling techniques and design patterns
o XML
o Unified Modeling Language (UML)
o Java Portlet JSR-168 specification
o Federal Accessibility Standards (Section 508)
o Java development with RAD/Eclipse or RSA
o Pattern-based, object-oriented development, particularly MVC
o Rational ClearCaseTM
o Entity Relationship Diagrams
Experience in Project Management, Business Management, System & App Testing and/or Quality Assurance a plus
