ALSTOM Grid Network Management Solutions, the leader in providing software and services to the Electric Utility Industry has an opening for a Continuous IntegrationManager / Build Managerin its Redmond, WA location. As Continuous Integration Manager / Build Manager, you will have pprimary responsibility for managing the software configuration environment, change management, and build process, automated smoke test environment, release process, and version control. You will work within R&D and closely with Software Engineering and Operations to create a continuously integrated and tested solution from a suite of products. You will orient the development of innovative new software products in accordance with the product lifecycle management process.
In this role you will:
- Develop and drive the processes that ensure an integrated solution kit is delivered to each development team at least every 24 hours.
- Enable the adoption of Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, Test-Driven Development, and Agile best-practices, processes, and tools.
- Collaborate with development, QA, release engineering, operations, and site support to achieve high-quality in the entire deployment pipeline.
- Lead a cross-functional project team that consists of permanent employees, on-site contractors and off-site contractors.
- Workwith Architects and other Technical Leads to drive standards and best-practices in Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, Test-Driven Development and Agile.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Release Managers, Development Leads, and Test Leads on deployment and release plans.
- Drive and implement automation wherever feasible.
- Contribute tothe adoption of automation and scripted application deployments from development to production.
Job Requirements
All candidates must meet the following minimumrequirements in order to be considered for thisopportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.General Qualifications:
- Requires ten (10) years of product software development experience. Must understand an environment that includes Windows, Linux, VMware, TFS, WiX, .NET, Java,SQL Server orOracle.
- Requires at least4 years of experience with development of scalable build, test and deployment systems in virtualized environments.
- Requires at least2 years experience working in an Agile development team and working with highly distributed agile development teams.
- Requires at least 5 years experience with commercial source control management systems (TFS experience preferred) and code branching/merging strategies.
- Requires strong understanding of software product QA and Release Management Processes.
- Experience managing and integrating automated acceptance test suites into the Continuous Integration process
- Experience managing a small team and working with off-shore resources.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent or equivalent work experience. Masters Degree is preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to write professional procedures. Ability to make informal presentations to technical and non-technical staff and customers.
- Ability to occasionally work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs.
