Sr. Technical Program Manager-Kindle Digital Services at Seattle

Job Description

The Amazon Kindle team is looking for a Technical Program Manager focused on delivering cutting edge software and services to expand Kindle and Kindle Fire to enable customers around the world to access millions of books, movies, apps, games, tv shows, magazines, and newspapers from anywhere on earth. You will have the opportunity to impact customers worldwide by working with development teams to expand Kindle globally. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable digging into business requirements and product planning as well as drilling into technical architecture and design.

This role requires working with business owners and product managers to define strategy, requirements and timelines as well as lead cross functional development teams through design, delivery, management and support. This position involves regular communication with senior management on roadmaps, progress, risks and change control. Technical design skills, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.

• Knowledge of the following is required; service-oriented architecture, product development (including C++, Java, XML, messaging protocols, and Web Services), build processes, project management and release models.
• 3+ years expereince in a technical project management or related role.
• Bachelors degree in computer science or related field

• 5+ years experience as a developer
• The ideal candidate is creative with superior analytical abilities across business and technology.
• Qualified candidates have extensive experience defining programs, writing detailed functional specifications and delivering projects that meet rapidly evolving business needs.
