Currently we are seeking individuals for the following position:
Database Analyst
Database Analyst Job Responsibilities
- This position designs/analyzes/creates management reports that assist senior leadership within our Bill to Cash Organization to help understand trends and anomalies.
- The majority of the functions performed will be to provide support to the supervisor/manager of the related sub-process and senior level professionals with their daily/monthly/quarterly/yearly reporting needs and processes.
- This role will also act as a team lead for their direct process area.
- Assists in developing internal management reporting creation, and ad hoc request to perform analysis of key performance measures crucial to the departments financial and operational results.
- Assure performance through consistent maintenance of database objects and structure.
- Work closely with our internal DBAs to resolve alarms, and troubleshoot issues.
- Function as a Subject Matter Expert on all SQL reporting nationally within the Bill to Cash organization.
- Responsible for quantitative analysis, trending, reporting, and execution to drive improvement of the operations that drive performance metrics and KPIs for representative, supervisor, manager and Director levels.
- Work closely with the national strategy and budgets teams to support the business overall vision of improving performance.
- Propose alternative strategic and operational tactics to further improve overall results and efficiency.
- Partner with Strategy, Ops Managers, and project management team to create and provide strategic oversight of actionable plans to improve bad debt and churn through reviewing and analyzing data.
- Oversee and track progress to close performance gaps as measured by departmental results; communicate project status, risks, and objectives to all audiences including Bill 2 Cash Leadership teams.
- Provide financial, statistical and operational analyses, in support of key productivity and cost savings opportunities, and deliver action-oriented recommendations, resulting in attainment of B2C goals.
- Identify and analyze data/trends, building correlations between operational metrics that drive both strategic and tactical opportunities.
- Perform transaction sampling/data mining analysis to identify root cause behind trends and understand drivers which impact our KPIs.
- Develop analytical tools/scenario analyses to compare results under various key driver assumptions, and identify financial risks and opportunities.
Job Requirements
Database Analyst Skills Required to be considered:
- Experience in reporting and analysis/database management with experience in reporting/database software such as Oracle, SQL Server, Visual Basic, Cognos Impromptu, Crystal reports, SQL Assistant, and report automation.
- Demonstrated ability to read and edit SQL code.
- Advanced understanding of data retrieval and report design.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
- Prior experience creating and delivering Executive level presentations. Ability to convey relevant meaning effectively
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage with little supervision, manage multiple initiatives at one time, and meet deadlines required.
Desired experience:
- Experience in credit and/or collections desired.
- Prior experience in HTML, JavaScript/AJAX, CSS, PL/SQL, SQL, JAVA preferred.
- Employees/Candidates with professional certifications preferred.
- Experience in the technology or telecommunications industry preferred, but not required.
- Prior experience in newly formed workgroups and ability to quickly alter work function to meet rapidly changing needs of business and function required.
- Ability to develop strong internal relationships with all levels of management, including executive leadership and operations teams; openness to collaboration and feedback; demonstrated ability to build consensus.
