Current Need

McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical is looking for a Vice President / General Manager for the Northwest region.

Position Description

The VP/GM:

• Carries full P&L and capital responsibility for the assigned areas.


• Is responsible for significant customer interaction leading to key customer retention and new business development that drives sales profitability in both MHS and ISMC segments.


• Is responsible for achieving operating metrics for assigned sites.


• Provides direction and leadership to ensure execution of DC operating plan, employee engagement and development, and customer satisfaction.


• Ensures compliance with company and regulatory policies and requirements.


• Acts as company representative in influencing local public policy.


• Contributes to development of regional strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities:
General Management
- Drive successful financial, operational, employee and customer results to achieve defined scorecard goals in each area.
- Manage and/or coordinate all functions relating to the distribution business in their area of responsibility, managing dashboard of key operations metrics.
- Manage complex matrix relationships with functions impacting or impacted by their distribution business.
- Drive the visibility of the McKesson brand in their markets.
- Participate as member of SVP region management team including attending meetings; provide thought leadership for their market and region.

Revenue Growth and Sales Management
- Formulate and manage sales strategy for their market; ensure customer retention and new business acquisition.
- Engage and establish relationships with major customers; anticipate and successfully address business at risk.
- Participate in significant customer interaction leading to key customer retention and new business development that drives sales profitability in both MHS and ISMC segments.
- Manage P&L for their area of responsibility.
- Contribute to network understanding of trends, issues and strategies in their market.

Daily Operations
- Drive achievement of BOS metrics and monitor quality, cost, asset management and other operating metrics in their DC(s).
- Define and drive Operations priorities for their market; ensure environment for quick problem solving and decision making.
- Resolve issues that are not resolved at the VPS/DCM level.
- Facilitate cross functional understanding and cooperation by holding regular staff meetings and developing effective leadership team.

Employee Attraction, Retention and Development
- Develop strong team of leaders providing coaching and appropriate development opportunities for direct reports.
- Ensure high quality employee attraction, engagement and development at all levels, building bench strength in their market through modeling of ICARE and development of an effective culture.
- Effectively manage all people issues including, but not limited to, labor, turnover, generational, diversity.

Minimum Requirements

• Working knowledge of Sales and/or Operations and Finance in Pharmaceutical Distribution Centers

Education

Required - Bachelors Degree in Business, Logistics or related discipline.
Preferred - Masters Degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
