BRIEF WORK SUMMARY

This Software Developer opportunity is for a Gaming Company. The software development work will be focused on web development, systems integration and business intelligence. This work is performed mainly with Microsoft tools, servers and platforms, Microsoft C#, ASP.NET, ASP, and SQL Server 2005+ platforms, as well as current CSS, HTML and JavaScript. There are several small to large projects throughout any given year that develop and improve their websites and internal systems. On new projects, they design their systems to use the latest Microsoft technology and a service-oriented architecture. The wide variety of systems, platforms and technologies that they employ combined with their collaborative, partner-focused work environment means that they need candidates who are equally comfortable working with technology and people. As a Software Developer you will participate in the entire software development cycle, first as a technical adviser in the planning and requirements stages, then on through development, testing, deployment and production support. Each project stage requires a mix of technical, communication and people-skills, so a successful candidate for this position must demonstrate more than just a mastery of technology. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Software Developer assists other developers in the development of functional specifications based on vision and scope provided by the Development Manager or team lead. Performs design work on systems in ASP.NET, MVC, WCF, C#, CSS, HTML, JavaScript/JQuery and SQL Server, exercising individual judgment to implement appropriate design patterns and practices. He or she will implement functional specifications on the web-based projects. Software Developer will perform literate programming, using adequate commenting and documentation tools. He or she will adopt industry standards and team-specific coding practices. Also, Software Developer will provide reasonable estimates of time/materials required to complete vision and scope goals outlined by the Development Manager. 

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

Experience working with Microsoft ASP.NET, MVC, WCF and SQL Server platforms, as well as current CSS, HTML, XML, SOAP and Javascript/JQuery skills. Usage of data modeling tools.  Design Patterns, UML and OO design methodologies. Agile familiarity or experience, specifically with the SCRUM methodology. Familiarity or programming experience ASP.Net, MVC and/or Silverlight is a plus

Job Requirements

C#, WCF, ASP.NET, CSS, SQL, XML, SOAP; Usage of data modeling tools, Design Patterns, UML and OO design methodologies. Experience with web systems, applications, and components; web servers, application servers, databases, transactional systems, content management systems, operating systems. Sound knowledge of software engineering, software engineering methodologies, and the impact of early decisions on later development stages of software projects. Knowledge of Internet communication protocolsAgile familiarity or experience, specifically with the SCRUM methodology. Familiarity or programming experience asp.net, MVC and/or Silverlight is a plus.
