Job Description
Our client in Snoqualmie, WA is looking for a First Article Inspector who will be responsible to inspect plastic injection molded parts and PCBAs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Works from drawings, SCD, engineering change orders, written and/or oral instructions, or established standard operating procedures to determine acceptance or rejection of parts.
- Identify and report acceptable, rejected, defective, malfunctioning parts or equipment and quarantine defective materials.
- Create and file accurate inspection records and non-conforming material reports.
- Examines purchase order receiver documents to identify special handling codes and apply appropriate labeling procedure.
- Set-up test equipment in accordance with procedures for testing assemblies and finished products.
- Provide feed-back to supervisor on inspection procedures so proper changes can be made to ensure procedure matches with actual process.
- Operate optical comparator, voltage meter, waveform simulators and other special test fixtures according to standard operating procedures. Insure calibration is up-to-date when using tools for inspection.
- Read and interpret bill of material and assembly drawing structure.
- Interpret workmanship standards as it applies to the inspection of assemblies, printed circuit boards, panels and components.
- Work from procedures, work instructions, packing slips, and/or verbal instructions to visually inspect and/or perform simple functional quality tests.
- Refer malfunctions and/or questionable workmanship to supervisor for disposition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Demonstrate ability to work as team and independently. Accomplish assigned tasks on timely manner during regular working hours.
- Train, assist and/or instruct other team members to perform the inspection function using written procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical, electronics, printed circuit assemblies, and mechanical component inspection.
- Familiar with a variety of inspection tools such as: Calipers dial and digital calipers, dial indicators, dial depth gage sets, pin gages, micrometers, digital high gage, radius gage sets, plug and ring gages, etc.
- Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for job assignments; prioritize work and respond with the appropriate level of urgency to the action item list.
- Responsible for printing and updating report 5.13.24 daily.
- Execute and promote safety procedures in the workplace.
- Deliver inspected parts within 2 hours of inspection.
- Assistance to receiving by helping unloading trucks, sorting incoming materials and count boxes/pallets before receipts are processed.
- Ability to accurately visualize color and perception due to close, exacting work and color coding of materials. Confirm with other inspector if sample color exceeds the tolerance limits, before rejection.
- Perform other related duties, participate in cross training and assist other team members as required.

Job Requirements
First Article Inspector
- A high school degree or equivalent is required.
- 5 years of experience in Receiving Inspection desired.
- Good vision and color perception due to close, exacting work and the color coding of materials.
- Good verbal and/or written skills to convey non-conforming material reports, unusual problems, malfunctions and special projects to management.
- Basic knowledge how to read BOMS, engineering prints, diagrams and specifications.
- Must have experience with calipers, micrometers, height gages, and surface plates.
- CMM experience preferred.
- ASQ certifications preferred.
