Overview:As a Holiday Selling Floor Recovery Associate, you will be an integral part of bringing the magic of Macys to life during the fast-paced holiday season. Associates in this role perform a number of functions that are critical to offering our customers the best experience when they shop in our store. While all holiday positions require working as part of a team to meet department and store objectives, your individual responsibilities may include clearing merchandise from fitting rooms, refolding and rehanging merchandise and returning it to the proper place on the selling floor, ensuring that merchandise racks are sized correctly, and maintaining selling floor display tables.In order to present our customers with the best holiday shopping experience, many of our Holiday Selling Floor Recovery Associates arrive prior to store opening and remain after closing to ensure we are ready to make Macys magic. Holiday associates will have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule on a temporary basis, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and busy events such as the day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas. And dont forget - just in time for holiday shopping, you will receive an employee discount of up to 20% starting your first day!Any schedule hours listed in the job posting title are subject to change based on business needs. All holiday associates may be required to work hours other than those stated in the job posting title on weekends, or on key holiday events such as the Friday after Thanksgiving.Essential Functions:- General organization of merchandise in a given department, including folding, hanging and stacking merchandise and ensuring that it is on the correct fixture within the department- Clear merchandise from fitting rooms, and ensure that it is returned to the proper area of the department or store- Execute Macys merchandising standards, and maintain a clean, neat and easy to shop selling floor- Adaptable and flexible to working in all departments and areas of the store- Provide friendly customer service to all customers by answering questions- Follow all procedures, policies, and standards- Develop strong product knowledge- Prepare merchandise to be returned to the sales floor and place in the correct designation- Assist in replenishment of stock onto the sales floor- Assist in inventory and markdown processes- Maintain high customer readiness standards by delivering a clean, neat, easy to shop store environment- Daily hanger collection and sorting- Assist in fitting room trash collection and disposal- Alert Housekeeping or Management of cleaning needs beyond simple pick-up- Be sensitive to stores needs and flex into other non-selling areas as needed- Assist with special projects as assigned- Perform other duties as assigned- Regular, dependable attendance and punctualityQualifications:Education/Experience No specific education or experience required.Communication Skills Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safetyrules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate with peers and customers.Mathematical Skills Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, anddivision. Able to use a calculator.Reasoning Ability Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, andlearn new procedures. Ability to work as part of a team, but also able to complete tasksindependently with little supervision.Physical Demands This position involves constant moving and standing for at least twoconsecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbingladders and reaching above eye level. Involves lifting at least 30 lbs. May have to reach above eye level.Other Skills Demonstrates an energetic and positive attitude. Ability to collaborate andfunction as a member of a team.
