Summary: Supports company goals and growth in matters related to overall Fire Alarm / Life Safety design and estimating duties. This position will be responsible for the overall design, estimate and project management tasks in compliance with Evergreen Fire and Security (EFS) standards and contract requirements. The Fire Alarm Systems Estimator / Designer is primarily responsible for all design work for Fire Systems prior to acceptance by the customer and transfer of responsibility to a Sr. Program Manager. The Fire Alarm Systems Estimator / Designer will consult with customers, vendors and management to review project needs, author estimates, determine project timeframe and funding limitations.
Job Duties and Functions:
- Design fire projects, review CAD drawings, review bid and final cut build-outs for accuracy and completeness.
- Manage new and existing orders, projects and internal / external customers involving analysis and project development.
- Expedite projects in a timely manner.
- Author and review bids for EFS, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Business Management duties as needed to perform project tasks to completion.
- Leverage past sales experience and contacts to initiate recurring business opportunities and business referrals.
- May work with peer groups to ensure collaborative partnerships by working together as it relates to the development, writing and finalizing of competitive proposals.
- May be required to travel to assigned job sites to ensure company compliance, proposal delivery and customer satisfaction; Conduct in-depth site surveys.
- Guarantee proper coverage of markets, making sure all deadlines, documentation and information is relayed timely.
- Supervise assigned contracts and its interface with other company processes and procedures.
- Maintain data, analysis and provide program status reports as required by the Engineering Department Manager or Supervisor.
- Contribute to the overall Program development efforts.
- All other duties relating to the overall organizational business development and/or as assigned by the Engineering Department Manager.
Education/Experience
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent;a bachelors degree in a related field and/or a senior technical certificate is preferred. Must have 5+ years of related senior technical or project management level experience with Fire Alarm / Life Safety systems. Strongly prefer NICET II or III certification in fire alarm systems or equivalent industry experience.
