Job Description

This position is in the Systems Operations of Control Center Design and Administration (TOHD) Group in the Transmission Services (T) business line. This position is for a project engineering lead for a team to design and implement mission critical local and wide area networks distributed across the Pacific Northwest and the monitoring and management systems required for ongoing support. The position is located in Vancouver, Washington.Position Requirements:Education/Experience:Minimum of 10 years experience in Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering or related field is required.Undergraduate College Degree is preferred, or in lieu of degree, an equivalent of 4 additional years experience (14+ years total) in Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering or related field is required.Minimum of 10 years of knowledge of computer network and systems concepts, principals, and practices applicable to components and facilities found on a regional transmission system.Minimum of 5 years experience on project teams developing computer and / or network systems. Experience leading project teams developing computer and / or network systems is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 including but not limited to: Word, Outlook and Excel is required.General Requirements:This position requires expert skill in applying:Engineering project management principles and concepts;Technical project coordination;Project schedule and structure development concepts;Technical evaluation and evaluation process of control system technologies;Best practice test plan development for project certification;Leadership skills in developing teamwork between different organizational boundaries;Engineering design principles and concepts;Ability to lead and participate effectively in a project team environment and effectively manage multiple work assignments and changing priorities.Ability to review and evaluate design packages (including drawings, material certifications, and submittals for conformance to the design specifications).Experience in the following is desirable:developing compliance program to meet NERC CIP standardsNetwork Operations Center (NOC) experienceVirtual Private Networks and router encryptionFiber optic communication system design We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
