(NYSE: WPZ), is an energy infrastructure company focused on connecting North Americas significant hydrocarbon resource plays to growing markets for natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs) and olefins. Williams operations span from the deepwater Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian oil sands.
Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Pipeline Welder Specialist to report to either our Sumas OR Redmond, Washington district. The qualified candidate must possess knowledge, skills, and job related experience in order to perform tasks and assignments associated with pipeline design, construction, operations and maintenance of natural gas pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Follow ALL safety policies to ensure tasks and assignments are completed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, with an emphasis on finishing EACH day incident and injury free
- Perform pipe fabrication welds, tie-in welds, and welding in-service pipelines with pipe sizes up to 42 diameters
- Complete pipeline operations and maintenance tasks and projects in support of plant, pipeline, corrosion, measurement, controls, and engineering
- Act as an inspector by monitoring contract work, and making certain that ALL job specifications are followed
- Perform other Operations tasks not associated with welding
- Accurately participate in the Williams Operations Development Plan (ODP)
- Perform administrative tasks such as: ordering and receiving parts and material, personal timesheets and expense accounts, maintain company vehicle
Basic / Required
- Demonstrate safety as the utmost priority
- Provide previous welding certification history
- The success candidate is required to pass Williams welding qualification tests according to API 1104, and ASME Section 9, using cellulose and low hydrogen electrodes. The successful candidate must pass all welding qualification tests within 3 months of employment date.
- Posses a high school diploma or equivalent
- The successful candidate will be required to test and maintain current welder certification per Williams Gas Pipeline standards, develop certified welding inspector skills and NDT certifications
- Posses manual dexterity with the physical ability to work in situations which require bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and lifting/carrying items up to fifty (50) pounds
- Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and job related experience
- Ability to read and interpret various company policies, procedures, and the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manual
- This position requires a significant amount of overnight travel to support operation areas throughout the company, working other than normal hours, overtime, schedule changes, the ability to respond to call-outs, and work in adverse weather and extreme temperature conditions
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment, and as an individual with minimal supervision
- Posses good oral and written communication skills
- Effectively interface with many landowners, regulatory officials, company contacts, co-workers, and internal and external customers
- Posses an associate welding degree acquired through a technical school or related education
- The ability to operate heavy equipment
