National Account Manager - ecommerce at Seattle

Job Description

Our Western Sales Team has an ecommerce account management opportunity for a dynamic, entrepreneurial sales/account management professional. In this newly-created position, areas of focus will include:

 

  • Full P&L responsibility for assigned ecommerce accounts;
  • Maintain regular communication between MSG and account personnel;
  • Drive new business initiatives in order to enhance online retail performance and profitably grow business for MSG and its customers;
  • Build and maintain cohesive business relationships with all levels at the customer and within MSG.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Partner with account team members to achieve P&L performance objectives, meet internal program deadlines.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve profitable revenue growth, increase market share and improve customers’ retail productivity.
  • Develop and expand relationships with business leaders at the customer (e.g.  Company executives, merchandise managers, buyers, replenishment personnel.
  • Drive new product presentations and other new business initiatives:

 

  • Partner with account team members and key customer contacts to identify program, product, distribution, and merchandising solutions that increase profits for merchants, MSG and our vendor partners.
  • Work with category management, marketing and purchasing departments to develop/understand new product strategies, prepare presentations and conduct line reviews.
  • Follow-up regularly with customer and corporate contacts to maintain relationships and momentum.

    • Work with customer contacts and Maurice corporate personnel to manage the existing business and implement new initiatives:

     

  • Maintain regular interaction with customer contacts including business leaders, buyers in multiple departments, as well as, representatives in inventory planning, replenishment, accounts payable, supply chain management, marketing, to understand their needs and grow our existing business.
  • Partner with Maurice personnel in inventory planning, purchasing, category management, marketing, sales analysis, distribution, credit, and finance to support the business.
  • Facilitate communication between Maurice and assigned customer accounts to ensure optimal execution of our existing business and best-in-class implementation of new business initiatives.
  •  

    • Lead, manage and develop each member of the e-commerce team and ensure their performance meets/exceeds expectations and facilitates continued sales/profit growth for MSG and the customer.
    • Assume full ownership for financial/operational functions for the account(s):

     

  • Identify and achieve to account goals regarding margin, turn, inventory control, etc.
  • Develop and interpret scorecards and related metrics to evaluate performance and identify opportunities.
  • Establish market pricing at retail and forecast by item and month, as well as ensure pricing continuity across accounts.
  • Develop and manage account budgets.
  • Select products, create assortments and deliver professional presentations to key account decision-makers.
  • Identify solutions that address seasonality and its effects on all MSG categories.
  • Analyze customers’ competitors and competing products and provide solutions that increase profits for MSG and assigned accounts.
  • Job Requirements

    • 5-7 years’ experience in sales management, traditional buying or ecommerce retail merchandising.
    • Strong experience in driving sales, sku growth, conversion, and overall margin,
    • High energy and passion for leading and developing an ecommerce team.
    • A thorough understanding of SEO / SEM concepts coupled with comprehensive knowledge of the current e-commerce marketplace including macro trends, major players by industry and best practices in site design.
    • Articulate written and interpersonal communication skills, a strategic mindset, business savvy, creativity, as well as, the ability to influence and negotiate in a professional manner.
    • Strong leadership, analytical, project management, and organizational skills coupled with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Proficient in leveraging technology to drive the business and in learning new software applications
    • An entrepreneurial team player who excels in developing strong internal and external working relationships.
