Software Development Engineer in Test - Digital Content Platform at Seattle

Do you want to work on core Kindle backend systems involved in every purchase on Kindle devices? Can you help fuel the explosive growth in our devices, types of content and marketplaces?

The Digital Content Platform team is looking for an SDET to help us scale out our services to support the ever-growing traffic in Kindle. Our team is already responsible for booking the revenue from all eBook purchases worldwide, and is now shifting our services into a platform for all digital sales company wide. We handle millions of events (scale) and have to do so on a short timeline (performance) to meet financial deadlines.
Our customers are both the producers of content (eBooks, audio books, MP3, Video on Demand, and others) and end users who purchase digital content.

Qualified applicants will have industry experience in test, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to help us grow from a service to a reliable platform for all digital sales. Our focus will be on continual scaling of the business and maintaining accuracy of our calculations.

- A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (typically a BS in CS)
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in one or more modern programming languages (such as Java, C/C++, C#, Python) and open-source technologies (Linux, SQL, Spring, Hibernate)
- Strong written and verbal communication

- Experience working with large scale distributed systems
- Experience working with AWS systems like S3, EC2 and technologies like Hadoop and EMR is a plus
