CLIENT SERVICES MANAGER
Potential Partnership Opportunity
Carlson Advisors, with headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and offices in Seattle, Washington, St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Los Angeles, California is dedicated to our clients and our staff. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a dedicated, career-minded professional for our Seattle office. You will manage a range of services to clients in the accounting, tax and consulting area, using both personal knowledge and the work of specialized staff of the firm. Specifically, this individual should possess the following skills:
Accounting and Auditing – Working knowledge of Audits, Reviews, and Compilations; a thorough understanding of GAAP is essential; ability to plan, direct, review, and coordinate with client projects in these areas is essential, as is the ability to perform as the preparer on such engagements when required. When performing engagements in this area, this individual will also be expected to provide training, support and positive feedback to staff engaged in the projects, and support all firm policies and procedures in the performance of these engagements. When managing such projects this individual will also be responsible for setting and managing budgets for the work required, consistent with firm policies.
Tax and Governmental Compliance – Experience in tax research and the preparation, review, and staff management on projects relating to corporate taxation, including the preparation of returns for C and S corporations, partnerships, and individuals. Specific knowledge or experience in corporate re-organizations, or in taxation issues related to mergers and acquisitions, is preferred, as is an understanding of the tax issues related to incentive compensation plans and similar tax matters affecting private corporations. In addition, an understanding of multi-state tax issues, and state and local tax matters, will be he useful attributes.
Business Advisory – It is expected that this individual will become the principal contact with a number of our firms business clients, which will involve both coordination of A&A and Tax services needs of the client, and providing business advisory services to such clients, subject to firm guidelines, and the individuals own experience and knowledge. However, it is the policy of this firm that all staff should seek opportunities to “add value" to our business clients through the role of “trusted business advisor," and active and direct involvement with owners and senior managers of our clients is not just encouraged, it is required.
Requirements include an active Washington State license to practice public accounting, or the ability to hold one prior to beginning work, a minimum of 7 years relevant experience, excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to be a “team player."
In addition, the following will be considered as positive factors in consideration of any particular candidate:
• Experience working with manufacturing clients, clients in the printing industry, or clients dealing with technology;
• Turnaround consulting;
• Merger/Acquisition consulting engagements;
• MIS advisory engagements or services;
• An interest in, or experience with, firm marketing efforts.
• Experience with ProSystems fx tax software, and/or CCH Engagement software.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Office is required.
