Program Analyst at Bremerton

This position is located within the Piping Group (056) and Production Resources Process Division (901) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Bremerton, Washington. You will be responsible for gathering, assessing and analyzing data; identifying trends and indicators of non-compliance.

As a Program Analyst your duties will include, but are not limited to:

 

  · Gathering and evaluating performance data and conducting program compliance surveillance.

 · Instructing and advising others in program requirements; acting as advocate for department programs; and

   implementing policies established by higher levels.

  · Preparing and issuing assessment reports for assigned programs.

  · Preparing and presenting of reports, proposals, charts, and graphs.

  · Using data gathering, assessing and analyzing principles and techniques to identify interrelated program problems.

  · Reviewing and categorizing data; accessing and analyzing data and identifying trends.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting program analysis to support established department programs. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of qualifying experience includes:

· Planning and executing studies in order to analyze, validate, and present data for the allocation of budget or resources.

· Preparing and delivering briefings to managers on study findings and recommendations.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade.  All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.

    Position may require walking, standing, and carrying of light weight articles.

    Occasionally work may be performed in industrial areas of the Shipyard including aboard Naval ships and in dry docks and may require the wearing of personal safety equipment such as hard hat, safety shoes, and safety glasses.

     

    Position may require assignments in work areas where certain potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present. These agents may include, but are not limited to, fumes, dust, noise, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, chemicals, etc.

     

    To ensure employee safety and health, the Shipyard maintains personnel protective programs consistent with applicable laws and regulations. These programs may include engineering controls, and medical surveillance. As part of medical surveillance programs, the selectee may be required to take medical examinations to assess his/her medical qualification for duty involving work with these agents.
