Job Description
The Deputy Director of Health Home is responsible for the overall contract compliance and coordination of all compliance activities across the Optum Washington Health Home, focusing on ensuring compliance with the terms of Optums contract with the Washington State Health Care Authority(HCA) and Department of Social & Health Services (DSHS). They will monitor all activities designed to ensure the quality, appropriateness and cultural competency of the Health Home services provided to the assigned beneficiaries and their families and support and fill in for the Executive Director as necessary. Additional responsibilities include the following:Assist the Executive Director in daily operations to achieve performance goals and efficient functioning of the person-centered WA Health Home and provider networks across all contracted areas. Interact closely with the HCA, the contracted Care Coordination Organizations (CCO), the beneficiaries and their families and other stakeholders in the development and implementation of the Health Home requirements in a recovery modeled culture.Ensure timely completion of all contract deliverables.Guide the Nurse Managers, Social Work Clinicians and the CCOs in the effective delivery of care coordination services, meeting contractual goals, and avoiding all contract penalties.Oversee clinical and administrative supervision of assigned staff.Participate in all required Optum Health Home meetings across the State.Provide the leadership and direction for the local Areas Health Home Councils.Oversee hiring, promotions and disciplinary actions to assure adherence to human capital policies.Formulate action plans to remedy any findings from the quality improvement committee, audits, utilization management reports, provider or consumer concerns.Demonstrate an effective, adaptive leadership style that promotes innovation and accountability, and establishes work priorities; delegates pertinent activities.Develops, reviews, and approves documents which provide information and program justification.Represents the Washington Health Home in relevant organizations and meetings.Communicates with the Governing Board through presentations, written materials and direct interactions and prepares monthly business review of all health home activities.Reviews appropriate legislation and works with Government Affairs to determine the implications for the Health Home.Job Requirements
Minimum 5 years managerial and administrative experience in public health and/or Health Care Coordination. Masters degree in social work, business administration, healthcare administration, public policy or a related field. Thorough understanding of managed care principles, models, and financing.
