Work as a member of the software development team to test embedded device software at the module, subsystem, and system level and document all procedures and test results.

The Software Verification & Validation engineer will be responsible for source code reviews, development of verification tests and subsequent testing of software modules and subsystems.

Uses automated test generation tools to build test harnesses and test data sets for verification testing on the development host and target processor.

Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidate will participate within the software team and will have experience in embedded software design, development, and test.

Coordinates activities with counterparts in other functional areas, both inside and outside the department, to ensure product quality and timeliness of release.

Supports creation of necessary test documentation to comply with policies, practices and procedures.

Requires:

Embedded, real-time software development and test experience.

Proficiency and demonstrated skill in C and C languages required, some experience with assembly level code is desired.

Experience programming real-time embedded microprocessor systems, and use of associated test tools.

Some experience in testing. V&V a plus.

Minimum of a BA/BS degree in either Computer Science or Software Engineering.

Individual needs to be flexible and work well with changing requirements, both independently and within a team environment.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Knowledge of and experience with embedded real-time operating systems and task-based systems is desirable.

Experience with Software V&V of medical devices or other safety-critical applications is highly desirable.
