Staff Programmer WASHINGTON UNITED TERMINALS a stevedoring co. located in Tacoma is looking for a Staff Programmer Responsible for ongoing maintenance and support of existing software systems and development of new systems across multiple platforms. Duties to include maintain existing core application written in Visual Basic 6, maintain existing base of AS400 based software primarily written in RPG, work with mgt on business processes/procedures, ensure all software meets business requirements. Experience in i5/AS400, Visual Basic RPG, SQL. Exceptional technical, analytical, problem solving skills, thorough hardware and software knowledge and system architecture understanding C#, VB, .Net or PHP programming skills a plus and experience with Optical Character Recognition, Radio frequency networks and devises, location technologies, terminal operating systems, gate systems a plus Degree Preferred or 7+ years related experience Strong PC skills, good mechanical aptitude Prior marine terminal experience preferred Korean as a second language a plus Salary DOE with excellent benefits and 401k plan.
