Experience Mill Machinist at Tacoma

Job Description

TOOL GAUGE & MACHINE WORKS INC. is located in Tacoma, WA. We are a fast paced non-union job shop. We specialize in precision machining and assembly applications that support the Aerospace, Nuclear, Medical and Commercial industries.

We have a job opportunity for an experienced Mill Machinist with the ability to work independently, perform set-ups, edit programs & operate all conventional & CNC machine shop equipment at very close tolerances.

Job Requirements

5+ years of experience

Mastercam/ESPRIT/NX experience a plus

Ability to calculate cutter speeds and feeds

Ability to read G&M codes

Ability to read and modify CAD drawings for standard practices and standardization of equipment and parts.

Advanced shop mathematic skills, including ability to calculate lengths, angles and distances

Previous practical machine shop or equivalent experience doing close tolerance work from blueprints, sketches, CAD drawings and verbal instructions

Knowledge of English and Metric thread standards

Knowledge of sliding and press fit standards

Vertical & Horizontal machining centers

Basic knowledge of metals, heat treating

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Aircraft experience preferred but not a requirement.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
