Manager of Treasury Accounting/Cash Management

Tacoma, WA


The Manager of Treasury Accounting/Cash Management will oversee the operation, management and investment of the corporate receipt and bank reconciliation function.

In addition, this position will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating deposits to banking institutions, reconciling daily bank balances, working with accounting and cash management systems, and supporting member services as it relates to cash management/treasury
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, local, NAIC/SVO, and BCBS Association regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines
  • Planning, organizing, directing and leading a well-trained and supported Finance department consistent with Cambia Health Solutions corporate vision and values

Key qualifications and experience:

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance with a minimum of five to seven years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. CFA, CCM, CPA, CMA or MBA highly preferred.
  • Based on area of expertise demonstrated knowledge of treasury operations, cash management/lockbox operations, bank reconciliation, treasury/cash management systems, and the commercial banking industry. Demonstrated application of financial, accounting, investment, and business knowledge. Specific areas of knowledge would include generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), statutory accounting principles (SAP), NAIC/SVO practices and procedures, modern portfolio theory, state insurance statutes, and department of insurance rules and regulations.
  • Experience managing large, lock box operations and/or vendor relationships
  • Experience managing commercial banking relationships with multiple banks utilizing best in class services and technologies
  • Daily bank reconciliations experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in leading crossfuntional teams in implementing departmental process improvement efforts strongly preferred
  • Experience in managing accounting team and understanding of the month end close process strongly preferred
  • Proven leadership skills and abilities as demonstrated by progressively increasing supervisory/management experience and responsibilities
  • Ability to think analytically, apply analytical techniques and to provide in-depth analysis and recommendations using critical thinking and sound judgment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of the work force
  • Above average ability working with complex PC and mainframe software and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of the staff and management both as a self-starter and in a team environment. Ability to plan, organize and lead the work of others with minimal supervision, while developing department goals and objectives consistent with corporate vision and strategies.
  • Ability to work very flexible and long hours as required, including out-of-town travel on short notice
