Position SummaryThe Key Account Manager is responsible for identifying, managing and closing new sales opportunities for all Thales products within the assigned geographical area. The incumbent is accountable for selling enterprise solutions to large and complex organizations through a consultative approach to senior-level executives of an assigned vertical market. In conjunction with other Thales technical experts, he builds relationships with key influencers and sponsors within key accounts in order to offer and deliver the appropriate network security solutions to respond to their needs. In addition, he establishes sales forecasts and revenue potential based on sound strategies for territory development and major accounts growth.

Essential/Key Areas of Responsibility

Qualified Sales Representatives require a consultative approach to selling; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and at least 10 years experience selling enterprise solutions into large and complex organizations. Demonstrable success with target account selling, solution selling and/or consultative sales techniques are essential. The applicant must have referenceable success in identifying, calling on, qualifying and interacting with the senior-level executives within an assigned vertical market. Candidates must also possess an ability to speak with top-level management about their business challenges and Network Security solutions. Candidates should have experience in customer relationship management techniques and using contact management software. A proven track record of exceeding assigned sales quotas in contiguous, multiple years, a must. Complete weekly reports as well as weekly forecast and territory development accomplishments.Technical Knowledge/Skills & Experience Required Strong 5-7 plus years selling in the network environment with deal size averaging $500K. Proven success in selling to Apple, Google, Intel and other high tech companies. Strong established relationships network managers, storage architects, PKI administrators, network architects, services firms, retailers, manufacturers. Understanding of basic IP, optical networking skills, storage or PKI required, previous experience selling network or security hardware desired. Ability to understand the key components of security architecture is required. Experience dealing with executive management at both the VAR and End User required. Experience in developing sales and channel strategies, preparing proposals and quotes, and presenting networking and security products required. Broad-based technological awareness complemented by knowledge of data networking, PKI, storage at rest and security concepts and products required, with strong presenting and closing skills. Ability to demonstrate skills necessary for win/win negotiation of issues with peers and customer.Educational Requirements BS/College degree required; Technical Degree preferred: BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study. Equivalent related technical experience, knowledge and training/certifications will be considered.
