Application Developer I (Integration ) at Tacoma

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
  • Assists in designing, developing, testing, documenting, and implementing software code
  • Uses problem-solving and analytical skills to help design, implement, upgrade and support complex application systems
  • Gains knowledge of and helps develop groupware environment structures
KEY FUNCTIONS:
  • Assists in configuring application instances based on user and vendor requirements
  • Participates in application coding and building customized structures in groupware environment
  • Participates in unit testing of applications, application interfaces and reporting
  • Assists users in understanding application functionality, enhancing processes and applications.
  • Provides Level 2 support.
  • Participates in applying application IT updates and revisions
  • Participates in testing systems in QA before deployment in production
  • environments
  • Participates in creating and maintaining documentation for applications and enhancements
  • Supports standardization of documentation and processes within ITS
  • Assists Application Analysts and Technical Analysts in resolving break fixes and change management
  • Specializes in one or more areas of supporting development within groupware applications
  • Additional tasks/responsibilities as defined.
  • May require some on-call coverage responsibilities.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical field or may substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2 years of total IT/application experience preferred.
  • Technical knowledge with product/vendor analysis and software support.
  • Experience working directly with vendors.
  • Knowledge of programming concepts and software development life cycle processes and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of database theory and practice.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works with processes with application functionality.
  • Works with IT staff and other facility staff on support issues.
  • Stays abreast with IT industry best practices and vendor specific application methodologies.
  • Works with Lead staff in the growth and development of application IT staff through education, activities and mentoring in support of the software applications.
  • Maintains relationships with management and Leads to coordinate daily operations.
  • Works with IT staff and facility staff to develop, standardize and maintain documentation.
  • Works closely with national groups in project teams.
  • Works with Technical Analysts on implementation and upgrades of applications.
  • Works with Application Analysts on planning for maintenance releases, problem resolution, and requirements and specification designs.
  • Works closely with other technical teams on projects.
