Technical Program Manager - Digital Software & Video Games at Seattle

Job Description

Amazon is rapidly expanding in the world of direct digital distribution of software and video games. We are seeking a talented, highly motivated, and experienced Technical Program Manager to join the Amazon digital software and video game team. You will be responsible for overseeing the design and production of key new platform features, and for rolling those features into production smoothly and effectively. You will participate in development of strategy, resource planning, and be responsible for timely delivery of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. You will be challenged to come up with solutions that surprise and delight customers, contribute great business results, and operate with great technical effectiveness.

Specific responsibilities include the following:
Drive backlog management across three dev teams supporting multiple in-production services for game and software sales and distribution
Develop and maintain a system of tracking and prioritizing feature request from multiple sources
Work with product managers and engineering teams to definite and deliver features of multiple new services
Coordinate between DSV engineering teams and relevant external teams, including but not limited to finance, tax, digital fulfillment network, TRMS, and business teams
Drive entire project lifecycle, from project definition through specification, coding, QA, launch and operation
Participate in planning and execution of entirely new services, delivering multiple features annually
Serve as a primary escalation point for technical blocking problems

Undergraduate degree in software product management, computer science, or equivalent
Three-to-five years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Thorough understanding of agile software development and service oriented architecture
Experience with object-oriented code, such as java or C++

Organized, methodical, thorough with a keen eye for detail
Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial along with a proven ability to influence others internally and externally.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
Solid understanding of Internet business models and web technologies
Experience with multiple product launches
Experience launching products in multiple countries
