Job Summary and MissionThis position contributes to Starbucks success by managing the Specialty Retail team of sales professionals to achieve optimum sales and profit objectives in a geographic region. This position will lead one of Starbucks newest sales teams in targeting, planning, selling, executing initiatives and building strong relationships with new and existing specialty retailers.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Leadership - Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:
- Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
- Supports the implementation of company programs to ensure the success of the Company.
- Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
- Plans and manages business unit and department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
- Analyzes sales estimates, develops annual forecasts, and recommends goals to senior sales management.
- Analyzes sales performance by category, account and sales partner.
- Develops and manages a comprehensive strategic plan to manage regional portfolio. Reviews MLA expirations and develops plan for new stores, renewals, renovations and closures. Determines how financial objectives such as sales weeks, system-wide sales, and revenue will be achieved through proactive management of the portfolio.
- Coordinates resources from design, store development, operations, and the licensee to ensure new stores are opened on schedule and existing stores are maintained at or above Starbucks standards.
- Develops and manages regional budgets and forecasts to ensure that the region achieves target sales goals and profit objectives.
- Builds long-term account value with executive level relationships within key accounts. Delivers strategic business reviews, including performance measures, labor management, revenue generation, site development, trend analysis, program and product initiatives and strategic planning with select accounts. Evaluates customer objectives, provides solution support to team to generate add-on sales and profits.
- Establishes and grows senior level distributor and contractual sales relationships in the region.
- Increases regional sales and profitability through new account acquisition.
- Plans and organizes work, schedules sales calls, and submits reports of sales activities for self and supervises these activities for all regional team members.
- Develops contacts and prospects that ensure long-term profitability for the Company and customers. Develops and achieves maximum sales volume and profit objectives consistent with projections for selling coffee continuum. Targets key decision-makers
- Implements key customer initiatives for designated licensees within region. Manages internal and external relationships required to ensure that initiatives are developed fully.
- Negotiates master licensing agreements. Develops proposals, delivers presentations, and gains consensus on terms of contracts.
- Represents Licensed Stores in the Market Planning process for a designated region.
- Challenges and inspires team members to achieve business results.
- Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
- Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
- Oversees training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.
- Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve partners, business and customer results.
- Actively identifies and develps top talent among direct reports
Job Requirements
Summary of Experience- Foodservice, franchising, licensing, hospitality, beverage, and/or consumer products (5 years)
- Outside sales and sales management at executive ant top management levels (5 years)
- Supervision of staff 10 or more(5 years)
- Negotiating complex sales agreements and contracts (5 years)
- Rolling out national programs(5 years)
- Analysis of financial performance (2 years)
