- Foster safety first" culture. Proactively address all safety concerns. Actively participate in the plant safety program.
- Maintain a positive relationship with plant management, supervisors and hourly employees.
- Actively pursue measures to reduce downtime on plant equipment, identify opportunities and take measures to reduce waste.
- Coordinate initiatives to reduce maintenance costs with Maintenance Manager.
- Follow through with the development and implementation of a reliability based maintenance system to proactively address equipment issues.
- Plan, schedule and monitor the timely completion of maintenance work orders.
- Oversee outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance.
- Participate, support, and comply with all Health, Safety, Quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements
- Complete all job duties in a manner that does not put him/herself or other individuals in an unsafe situation and wear all PPE (personal protective equipment) when required .
Job Requirements
- Formal degree or certificate in a technical area or related field required.
- 3-5 years experience in an industrial, maintenance environment.

Forklift experience preferred (LP and/or electric)

Welding and Fabrication preferred
-
Electrical aptitude
- Strong mechanical apptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated project management, planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to identify root causes of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
- Ability to demonstrate electrical, mechanical, and technical aptitude.
- Must have experience with computerized maintenance systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, analytical, communications skills.
- Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems.
- Basic computer knowledge to complete data entry responsibilities.
- Ability to use basic measurement instruments such as tape measure, scales, and gauges
- Obtain and maintain current certification to operate material handling equipment such as, forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry-picker
- Inventory control experience would be a plus but not a requirement
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand, bend, stoop, climb and reach.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
