Ship Wright at Bremerton

A SHIPWRIGHT IS:

  • A carpenter who is skilled in ship construction and repair. They will be working with the ship and pipe fitters on the job in Washington.
  • They will build and lay out keel and bilge blocks as supporting cradles for dry-docking submarines and surface ships.
  • The shipwright will establish reference points and align ships over cradle during docking and undocking procedures.
  • Construct staging, wooden, pipe and E-Z way stage, build temporary wood supports and shoring of various kinds.
  • The shipwright will also interpret and work from blueprints, plans, sketches, and manufacturer’s and military specifications.
  • Operates cranes, hoists, fork lifts, and/or motor vehicles.
 Requirements
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a SHIPWRIGHT
  • Must have a current resumes
  • Must be able to work on your own
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Must have a red badge (secret security clearance)
