Liberty Mutual, a Fortune 100 Company growing greater than twice the industry growth rate, is looking for a motivated and high-achieving individual for our Analyst, Product Research role on the Property Tactical Research team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter looking to join a strong, fast-paced organization and drive change for a $2B book of business, perform technical and analytical assessments of countrywide issues facing the Personal Insurance organization, play a direct role in building creative solutions and deliver results that assist in achieving the companys profit and market share goals. Under general direction, the candidate will research and analyze data, identify cost savings, develop recommendations, and analyze competitor and market trends. The candidate will collaboratively work with Property Product Managers, supporting their data and analysis needs on countrywide project efforts, assist in development and design of franchise countrywide programs and present recommendations to Product Managers, Directors of State Operations, VPs and SVPs.

Responsibilities:


Gather data, conduct analysis, and develop recommendations impacting product features, pricing, and underwriting


Complete moderate to highly complex analysis under general direction


Build tools and queries for others to use, and query data to complete ad hoc analysis


Prepare periodic presentations for senior management regarding research project status, recommendations and business impact


Analyze profitability and competitiveness using advanced Excel and Access tools


Work individually, or as part of a team, on projects that focus on improving profitability, increasing growth and/or reducing expenses


Lead own work streams on most projects. May manage aspects of low to moderately complex projects, including members within and outside team


Serve as ad hoc resource for less experienced analysts, and occasionally mentor others


May conduct competitive intelligence and understand market trends for a product line

 Requirements

Qualifications:


Bachelors degree in mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, or other quantitative field


3-5 years relevant work experience


Advanced math, analytical, problem-solving, and research abilities


Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills


Effective communication skills for writing reports/proposals and making presentations


Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once


Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, Emblem)


SQL experience and previous insurance background a plus
