Senior Network Administrator at Bothell


Individual contributor responsible for owning and managing all day to day maintenance, system administration, and performance engineering of specific platforms that support the Mobility national network. This person is fully responsible for the uptime and availability of national platforms and elements. This person is on call 24X7 in the event of an outage and must be an expert on the platforms they maintain and operate. They oversee any work performed on the platform and work closely with engineering, ATS, and vendor for any upgrades or enhancements. Data Platforms/elements supported include, but not limited to: MMSC, SMSC, Anti Spam, Instant Messaging, MMG, WEG, OMG, MAR, MIND Messaging Platforms supported-SMSC, Anti Spam, Instant Messaging, MMG, WEG, OMG, MAR, MIND Provisioning Platforms supported-HLR, CNOT, MWI, OTA, IIF, MG Signaling Platforms supported-LSMS, SS7, STPs, Access7, SGSN, GGSN, Routers, new technologies, etc.

Nature of Contribution- Seasoned technical professional who contributes through proven technical expertise. Has significant impact on department or function.

Knowledge - Subject matter expert within own discipline/specialty area and basic knowledge of other disciplines / specialty areas. Deep technical knowledge. Applies in-depth knowledge of discipline/specialty area standards and processes to work. Integrates industry experience and deep professional/ technical knowledge. Technical leader and recognized expert on select AT&T technologies, systems and/or procedures.

Required Qualifications -

  • Able to be on call 24X7

  • Proficient in Network Design

  • Proficient in System Support and Trouble Analysis

  • Proficient in Server and System Administration

  • Expert in Change Management Life Cycle Principles

  • Expert in Hardware (Local network switching equipment (CISCO, 3Com, etc.), routers, SAN switching equipment, servers (HP/IBM/Sun/Dell), SAN Frames (EMC, HDS,HP), etc.)

  • Expert in Call processing (network interfaces, signaling protocols (SS7, SIP, DIAMETER, M3UA, etc.), call flows, etc.)

  • Proficient in Hardware Installation and Repair

  • Proficient in Operating Systems (Servers: UNIX - Solaris, AIX, HPUX, Windows, Linux)

  • Proficient in Security

  • Proficient in Storage (SAN and Network Attached: BCVs, volume management, file systems, clustering)

  • Proficient in Script and Query development -Shell scripting (SQL (T-SQL, PL-SQL), SQL server, etc.)

  • Proficient in Virtualization (Network, Storage, Compute, etc.)

  • Expert in Hardware and Installation Repair

  • Expert in Virtualization (Network, Storage, Compute, etc.)



  • Desired Qualifications -

  • 5-8 years of experience
