Description of positionThis critical position is responsible for the day-to-day 24 x 7 operational support of the core Windows server infrastructure with a focus on Anti-Virus, Host Intrusion Prevention and Endpoint Encryption. The key responsibilities for this role are to provide support for the automated tasks associated with server administration, perform system maintenance and support & management of the endpoint security management infrastructure.The overall goal is to provide exceptional uptime, consistency, security, and system performance improvements. These functions will be measured on overall availability and operational metrics. This position also requires interactions with cross-functional teams and coordination of tasks. This will involve developing detailed recommendations for management, strategic planning and implementation, consulting with other departments to resolve network issues and concerns, and analyzing and recommending system changes. Additionally, this position will help install, configure, upgrade, and support server hardware and software.Tasks and responsibilities
  • Support and maintain the endpoint security management infrastructure
  • Security product testing, updates, deployments, and troubleshooting server and workstation for multiple Operating Systems
  • Provide support for the security teams, Service Desk, Client Integration, and server groups regarding endpoint security products
  • Write queries and reports supporting and adhering to change control policies that help to define and develop best practices for infrastructure management as it applies to endpoint security management
  • Provide education to the team on new technologies and make recommendations
  • Document business and system requirements for all project work
  • Perform necessary hardware / software upgrades and installations to the endpoint security management infrastructure
  • Perform systems analysis and create basic systems documentation
Required skills, abilities, and certifications
  • Minimum of three years of experience with Windows 2003 Server or 2008 Server in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with Enterprise Anti-Virus solutions and associated management consoles
  • Administrative experience with Microsoft Active Directory & related issues (DNS, Group Policies, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Network Protocols (TCP/IP) and port usage
  • Ability to explain complex subjects to an audience with wide variety of technical understanding, strong oral and written skills, and an ability to interact with all management levels
  • Exceptionally strong critical thinking and analysis skills and exceptionally strong documentation skills
  • Must have a positive attitude and able to work in a team environment
  • Must have proven ability to provide project estimates, follow priorities, and meet timelines
  • Must be extremely responsive and be able to work under pressure in stressful situations with a strong sense of urgency
  • Responsible, conscientious, organized, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision
  • Must be detail oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze for potential future issues
  • Availability and willingness to participate in 24 x 7 on call rotation. Requires paging capabilities
  • Requires periodic work outside of regular business hours that can include evenings, weekends, holidays
Recommended skills, abilities, and certifications
  • Security +, CISSP, Network + or experience in the Malware prevention field
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) – Windows Server 2008
  • Experience with Endpoint Encryption technologies
  • Experience With Desktop Firewall, Anti-Malware, Host Intrusion Protection and Network intrusion detection
  • Experience With Management Tools: ePolicy Orchestrator
