Software Engineer in Test (SDET), Data and Analyti at Bellevue

Our client is creating a new Analytics product offering. Using a combination of commercial products and new software development, we will provide a solution that spans our full range of products and services. The solution will be sold to our customers both as service (SaaS) as well as on-premise software.
Our client is looking for an experienced Software Engineer in Test (SDET) to be the quality czar for this new team from our Bellevue, WA office. This role is part of a small but highly collaborative cross-functional team with future growth potential that includes development, program management and test leadership.
The ideal candidate is highly hands-on and will be part of the technical vision, implementing our products. The candidate thrives in an agile development model and emphasizes quality in their products. The candidate has tested BI solutions and is interested in being part of team building new and innovative ways of getting more meaning out of data.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Program Management, Developers and UX Designers in execution of the features for our product


• Collaborate with other product teams to enable rich integrations of their solutions


• Work collaboratively with the extended team to create the best possible solution for our customers


• Participate in and own delivering high quality software with customer focused features


• Own test automation component level designs


• Ensure appropriate test coverage for product source


• Execute processes for quality software engineering

Requirements:

• Be a self starter and extremely detail oriented with acumen to find defects naturally


• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent area of study from an accredited university


• Background or education in math or statistical analysis highly recommended


• Proven track record producing test frameworks


• Experience in system and integration testing with clear understanding of regression testing


• Exhibit a strong passion for software development life cycle and customer delivery


• Demonstrable experience testing commercial analytics/business intelligence products or solutions


• At least 5 years of experience in commercial software development and testing


• Minimum 3 years working with database tools and architectures, including relational and unstructured database experience


• Minimum 2 years of experience with object oriented programming Java, C#, C++


• Minimum 1 year of delivering software as a service as enterprise solution


• Have worked in an agile environment, preferably SCRUM or Kanban, and have iteratively improved on the process for your teams


• Proven experience in performance, scale, and security of mission critical software products


• Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, analytical and problem solving skills


• Minimum 1 year of working knowledge with Big Data and NoSQL technologies a positive plus


• Database operational support experience a bonus
