Software Development Manager, Digital Vendor Payments

Amazon.com is looking for talented and enthusiastic Software Development Manager who is driven, focused, and passionate about building high volume, highly accurate, data driven systems to lead the development of major components of our next generation suite of Royalty Calculation and Vendor Payments services.

As the leader of this team you will be building high throughput, low latency services which will take care of the complex royalty calculation and vendor payment aspects of Amazons digital media offerings, including Amazon Kindle (eBooks), Amazon MP3 Music, Amazon Appstore and Amazon Instant Video.

You will be responsible for leading a team of smart, dedicated software developers with a strong focus on delivery in a dynamic production environment that requires flexible, high performance software. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for enabling software developers, experience building large scalable systems, and demonstrated ability to lead a team to deliver high quality results.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math, or related technical discipline
5+ years of experience as a software developer
2+ years of experience managing full life-cycle software development efforts.
A passion for people management and mentorship.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Software development experience Java, C++, or C#.

A passion for building self-managing software (human free operations)
Distributed systems experience
Experience building custom financial systems
