Referral Coordinator at Vancouver

Job Description

Yoh has a contract to hire opportunity for a Referral Coordinator to join our client in Vancouver, WA.

Job Overview:

Our client is currently seeking a qualified candidate to work as a Referral Coordinator in a managed care setting. This is a full-time, temp-hire position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support Nurse Care Managers in effectively handing referrals and other clerical medical processes
• Prioritize incoming referrals to expedite the authorization process
• Review and pass on referrals to RNs and Medical Director based on pre-authorization guidelines
• Obtain required medical information from primary care providers that facilitate the referral authorization/denial process
• Facilitate notification of referral status to members and providers through correspondence and telephone contact
• Triage telephone calls and care management referrals to Care and Resource Coordinators

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in the medical field
• Understanding of basic managed care, preferably having worked with managed care in insurance or clinical settings
• Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
• Strong computer, data entry, medical terminology and word processing skills
• Ability to manage high phone volume

Preferred Job Skills / Experience / Knowledge:

• Ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint; IDX and Trizetto experience is a plus
• Certification in medical terminology is preferred
